The Arabic word "Islam" means peace, submission, and obedience. The religion of Islam consists of the complete acceptance of the teachings and guidance of ALLAH as revealed to His Prophet Muhammad (sal-allahu-alleihi-wasallam - peace be upon him).

With the ever increasing Muslim population to the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) the need for Masjids in the GTA is imperative. Today Masajids in Toronto area are overcrowded with worshipers and the need for additional Masajids are clearly evident. In the same context we, SLIFO a Non Profit Muslim organization is in the process of purchasing a Masjid and a Islamic community center for the Muslim community as a whole. This will not only serve as a Masjid but also a central location for community activities such as youth and adult education , counseling (Tarbiyah), youth guidance programs, Janaza facilitiesand much more, all within the boundaries of Shariah. The Muslim community living in this part of Toronto requires a place to perform daily salah, quran recitation classes for children, youth and adults and to meet and greet as a unified Muslim community. The extended activities from this centre would enhance and uplift the Islamic quality of life for the Muslims of the area; enable the community to promote Islam through the work of dawa in the city which is well knownfor its multiculturalism and diversity in North America.
