SLIFO 6's Cricket Tournament 2009
Sri Lanka Islamic Foundation of Ontario would like to thank the community, teams, sponsors and volunteers for participating in the 2009 SLIFO cricket tournament and making it a success - This was a community event with all proceeds going towards the "Masjid Al-Jannah" project
The rescheduled tournament was held on July 25, 2009 and play went on until shortly after 2:30pm when thunder storms forcedplay to be halted. After continuous rain it was decided with the consultation of the tournament committee and the team captains to cancel the tournament due to poor weather conditions.
The Sri Lanka Islamic Foundation of Ontario is pleased to announce it's inaugural six a side softball cricket tournament - SLIFO 6's. This tournament was initially scheduled for for July 11, 2009 but due to bad weather it is now rescheduled to July 25, 2009 insha Allah at Ashtonbee Park on Pharmacy Avenue north of Eglinton.
The objective of this endeavour is twofold, firstly to bring the community together in a fun & friendly atmosphere, to nurture and instill the spirit of competitiveness, especially amongst our youth. Secondly to propel our fund raising drive towards the Al-Jannah Masjid relocation project. All proceeds from this event will go towards the Al-Jannah Masjid project

IMPORTANT CHANGES TO NOTE
The tournament committe has made some changes to the format of the tournament due to time restrictions
- Each bowler will be allowed to to bowl 4 balls per over in the preliminary round and the full quota of 6 balls will start from the super 8 stage onwards. All other rules and regulations remain unchanged
- All captains must report to the service tent at 9 am sharp to confirm your team's presence
- The tournament committee may or may not change the draw of the teams
- All food and beverages will be available for a nominal fee with all proceeds going towards the Masjid Al-Jannah project - Delicious Sri Lankan style lunch will be catered by renowned Sri Lankan chefs

* The deadline for team registration has been extended to Thursday July 9, 2009 Before 12pm EST
* Please note the fax number is experiencing some technical difficulties, please send completed registration forms via email or contact above mentioned brothers
- The deadline for team registration is July 3, 2009 before 12pm EST
- Registration cost per team is $30.00
- The format of the tournament will be communicated after the registration deadline based on the number of teams
- All team captains or a representative must be present at the time of the draw on July 10, 2009 at Musallah Al-Jannah shortly after Mahgrib Salah
